Reach for the sky with tall structures inspired by nature and built by you! Learn about structures found in nature and human structures that reach amazing heights. How tall can you build with the materials you are given? Take a look at buildings like the Cathedral of Learning and the architecture on Carnegie Mellon's campus and find out! Test your ideas through drawings and model-making, learning about the design process as you explore. This camp takes place mostly in the outdoor spaces around the museum.

Explore materials and building techniques while creating spaces for making and playing. Build models, make drawings, and create life-sized spaces. Explore nearby Schenley Park and Carnegie Mellon's campus to see examples of different building techniques. This camp takes place mostly in the outdoor spaces around the museum.

Design a house and learn how you can protect the earth at the same time in this online-only camp! Challenge yourself to conserve water, capture solar energy, and use only renewable materials as you design the house of your dreams! You’ll find inspiration from the collection at the museum and the Intelligent Workplace at CMU’s School of Architecture, and you’ll explore creative ways to design and build your house using a variety of architectural drawing and model-making methods. Camp is online and run through the Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Architecture Center for Architecture Explorations. Participants will need their own computer and internet access.
