Art Anthropology: Sculptural Stories

Price: $235 (Members: $215)

Explore the stories we uncover through the artworks that civilizations leave behind. Pair museum learning and the exploration of diverse sculptural materials and processes for a full arts experience. Learn about the history, cultural significance, and conservation efforts of ceramics works through behind-the-scenes exploration of Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s exhibition “The Stories We Keep,” and discover how the plaster cast process is used to preserve natural and manmade marvels through hands-on experiences. Gain an understanding of hand-building and wheel throwing techniques and engineer your own clay-based designs. Projects will be fired and available for pick-up at the museum 3 to 4 weeks after the program ends.
