Painting Studio

Carnegie Museum of Art
4400 Forbes Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213

Price: $255 (Members: $230)

Painting is a way of expressing your ideas about the world through your personal lens. Learn techniques by comparing old masters to the work of artists who continue to reinvent painting today. Discover which methods suit your expressive goals—smooth brushstrokes or thick and textured impasto? Bold or muted colors? Canvas or more nontraditional surfaces? Gain insight into your work and the work of your peers through group critique. The museum’s collection and an exhibition on view of painter Ruth Root’s work offer inspiration. This workshop meets on Carnegie Mellon’s campus. Student will make regular walking trips to CMOA.

Last day to register is June 12, 2019.
