Painting is a way of expressing your ideas about the world through your personal lens. Learn techniques by comparing old master paintings to the work of artists who continue to reinvent painting today. Discover which methods suit your expressive goals—smooth brushstrokes or thick and textured impasto? Bold or muted colors? Canvas or more nontraditional surfaces? Gain insight into your work and the work of your peers through group critique. Find inspiration in the museum’s collection. This workshop meets on Carnegie Mellon’s campus. Student will make regular walking trips to Carnegie Museum.
