Youth Museum Institute: Wetlands and Waterways

Investigate how aquatic ecosystems work and the impacts humans have on them. Use indicator species to draw conclusions regarding the health of a watershed. Investigate the impact of soil erosion on water supplies, and discover the unexpected impacts of pollution runoff. Learn about environmental science in action behind the scenes at ALCOSAN to learn about the green technology being employed to protect Pittsburgh’s water quality.

Day trip to ALCOSAN: museum pick-up at 3 p.m.
